I’m Pelin, an industrial designer based in Istanbul, Turkey. I design joyful products, experiences, and product-user interactions. I love telling visual stories through my designs.
My career kicked off at ACTON Global, where I worked as a junior Industrial Designer. This experience allowed me to dive into various aspects of design, such as user interface design, packaging design, user experience, mobile interface design, visualization, and industrial design. Notably, I even designed and launched a mobile app on the App Store during my time there. I wore multiple hats, with my role as the sole visualization artist being a particularly rewarding one.
After leaving ACTON in November 2022, I embarked on my solo career as a freelance industrial designer. This move was motivated by my desire to continue growing as a designer after ACTON's Turkey branch closure. I've been collaborating with international clients like Navo Group from the USA and D2P from China, using my design skills to help them find new perspectives and value.
Beyond my professional journey, I've shared my insights and work at the First Hand Experience Festival as a speaker in Istanbul. Public speaking there helped me refine my communication skills and spread my passion for design to fellow enthusiasts. Speaking of passion, I'm deeply committed to design, always seeking out fresh opportunities and challenges to fuel my growth. My virtual design studio, Nest Studio, has had a remarkable start with our project, Mimo Toothpaste, gaining recognition on platforms like Yanko Design and Dieline, as well as being shortlisted in Pentawards 2022.
Moreover, my designs have left an impact beyond borders. I've worked on projects for Silverline Appliances, one of the EU's largest kitchen appliance manufacturers. I've been recognized in competitions like the Procarton Competition in the Netherlands in 2020 and won the student's first place in the Inspiring Tables Design Competition by Kütahya Porcelain in 2021. Recently, I was thrilled to secure the Silver IDA award for my design, Tabs Table, and to emerge as a winner in the "Keyshot x V2 Studios" rendering competition, which showcased my exceptional rendering skills.
To further connect with the design community and share my thoughts, I actively maintain a design blog. Beyond formal education, I've been proactive in learning diverse design skills like 3D modeling, 3D printing techniques, sketching, and visualization. My insatiable thirst for knowledge and willingness to take on fresh challenges drive me forward as a designer.
